IT IS ALL HAPPENING ON THE INSIDE
When you’re tempted to look at the events in your life as the problem, remember it’s all happening on the inside. Look inward and notice how you’re feeling. Is there a storm brewing? Are you feeling agitated, in turmoil or in conflict? Are you anxious or depressed?
You may be feeling frustrated that life isn’t happening the way you want it to, or angry at a person for not behaving in a certain way. Instead, look inward and notice the frustration or the anger. Don’t react to any of it. Restore yourself internally to a place of quiet, peace, tranquility. That’s where it is all happening, and what you are feeling on the inside will color the events as they unfold on the outside.
WE’RE LIVING FROM THE INSIDE OUT
In the same way, a cut heals on our finger. The tissues heal one layer at a time, finally forming a scab of protection while the tissue on the outside of the finger has a chance to finish the healing process free from outside invaders. When the healing process is complete, the scab falls away.
MAKE YOUR PAST YOUR SUCCESS STORY
Reframe what occurred in a way that serves you. Our memories can be useful, our experiences can educate us, show us that a better way is possible. Look ahead to the future as an adventure, you have more information now, more knowledge. Tough lives make people strong, resilient. Look at your challenges from the past as stepping stoneS, to develop insight, even understanding and compassion.
LET IT ALL GO
Release it all, the fear, anxiety, worry, and tension. Get quiet in your body and your mind. Allow yourself to fully relax and be effortless. This is the real you, and as you release the old negative feelings and old habitual patterns of thinking, a space appears as if you had plucked weeds from a garden and now the flowers have room to blossom and grow. You will recognize the real you, as a natural, organic sense of ‘coming home.’ “Oh, here I am,” you will say, wondering how or why you ever left. But you must release the past, all the people, events and occurrences that kept you distracted and preoccupied from living your life fully.
Remember, we do not need to have amnesia and forget the past. Just release the energy of it all so you can look at the experiences as guidance, offering insight for a more fulfilling life.
And then, when you’ve released everything and everyone, the obsessing of negative thoughts can stop, or your attempts at sabotaging your life will lose its appeal, and the miracles can begin.
James Allen said in his classic book, As A Man Thinketh,
“…beautiful thoughts of all kinds crystallize into habits of grace and kindliness, which solidify into genial and sunny circumstances.”
