"I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived." Henry David Thoreau
A shift occurs when you remember you are not lacking or limited in any way. Feed yourself new thoughts as often as possible. Post reminder notes around the house and in your car. We all 'default' into the negative. Catch those thoughts and replace them with hopeful thoughts of belief and watch your life change in miraculous ways. The more you overcome resistance and take a leap of faith and feed yourself new energizing information that supports the idea of love and abundance, the more you will build self-esteem and see actual evidence of positive results.
Create a Plan:
Taking action makes a difference. Instead of wishing your life could change, here are just a few ideas to make it happen:
1. Read books, inspirational quotes, uplifting blogs. Books can be healing and elevate your thoughts immediately. Read books by the great thinkers - Thoreau, Gandhi, Jung, Goethe. Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill can fit in your purse, or even your pocket.
2. Filter out what you allow your mind to dwell on throughout the day.
3. Reframe negative thoughts: Turn those thoughts around to finding the good instead of the bad in a situation.
4. Count your blessings daily - this has tremendous power because you notice what has been just beyond your sight.
5. Write down on a 3x5 card or in your journal just before you go to sleep: five things you believe you did well that day.
6. Release the past, make the strong determination to forgive, end resentments. You are the one who will benefit as you allow your mind and body to heal. Learning to meditate will assist you in letting go and finding peace more than almost anything else you can do. Take a yoga class, find ways to nurture a new beginning.
7. Expand your mind - read classics, learn another language, set goals for higher education, skill development, or find creative outlets for undeveloped, unrealized talent. Take FREE online courses through Coursera, or EdX (started at Harvard and MIT and sponsored by Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation).
8. Pull yourself up and out of mental laziness. Take small steps daily, replace TV watching with reading. Watch community presentations of local plays, find opportunities to get involved.
9. Make your home, no matter how grand or humble, a gathering place for people to laugh. Host motivational speakers in your living room.
10. Develop a music collection that puts you back in touch with peace and happiness. We are all hardwired for developing a love for classical music. Listen to Mozart, and google www.themozarteffect.com to find out how this is as good for your soul as eating vegetables is for your body.
Go on the attack to change your life for the better. You are the only one who can do this for yourself.
You will begin to attract your dreams on a clean slate of preparation. Now start telling yourself "My dreams can come true for me."
Feed yourself the truth and your New Year will be fantastic. You have only just begun...
