CONFLICTED?
BE SPECIFIC AND CONSISTENT
If you are conflicted, you are holding yourself back, staying stuck in an energetic holding pattern. It’s time to gain clarity.
Ask yourself the really tough questions. Take the time to write down your questions and write down the answers to the best of your ability right now. Your clarity will expand but start where you are.
CONSCIOUS VS UNCONSCIOUS
These two partners must agree. The conscious and unconscious must be aligned with each other and in agreement with your desire. In order to move forward into the life you want, be specific and unwavering. You might think you know what you want, but this exercise of questioning yourself will increase your focus.
LIMITING THOUGHTS?
Where are you limiting yourself? Examine your patterns of thinking from your environment, the media, messages from your youth, your friends and their beliefs. Pay attention moment to moment to what you are telling yourself. It’s either nourishing or it’s not.
It’s important to think positive, but what we’re doing now is going beyond surface thinking to changing unconscious habits. It’s like the man who wants to quit smoking but doesn’t really. Each day he wishes he could quit as he lights up and thoroughly enjoys the nicotine entering his blood stream, which causes his brain to make more feel-good endorphins. But he really wishes he could quit.
AWARENESS IS HEALTHY
It’s essential to become aware of the conflict going on underneath the surface. Then, like the smoker, you can begin to take apart the support mechanism that keeps the desire to smoke in place. Whatever your limited feelings may be that is blocking your way to success, you can unravel the conflicting wishes like the smoker: Wants to quit/ loves to smoke.
THE PARADOX
Feel the FEELING of your conflicted desires: It may seem paradoxical, but coming out of avoidance or denial and truly embracing the conflict with conscious awareness removes the fear and the doubt. We think we need to stuff feelings because it will make us feel safe, but it’s the opposite. When we are stuck, we often just need more information, and it’s accessible information within ourselves, when we tune in and listen.
QUIET TIME
Just get quiet a few minutes daily with the intention of tuning in and listening. Be free from distractions, close your eyes and set your intention. After doing this awhile, you will experience a shift to expectancy and wonder, and a positive sense of possibility. Your unconscious is coming into alignment and you are entering the flow of your conscious creation of your greatest dreams.
MOVE YOUR BODY!
Now take an action step that moves your body physically. Here’s one that I was taught years ago when I quit smoking and it has always worked wonders for me: Throw your arms in the air and say something to this effect: “I love being free, I love fulfilling my greatest dreams.” You can use your own words, i.e., “I love being free, I love being a money magnet…I love living in my dream home…I love attracting my perfect mate… I love being free from smoking,” etc.
BE CONSISTENT
Follow these steps and you will be on your way to a new life – the one that attracts your greatest dreams. Your own consistency will give you the ability to trust yourself because you will be reliable to yourself. This is a key to raising your self-esteem.
"Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of somebody else."
~ Judy Garland
