Look at the possibilities and you will find yourself
there.
"Decide what you love, what excites and inspires, then make that your purpose and watch what transpires." Bob Proctor
No matter where you are in your quest for a more uplifting life - in career, finances, relationship, home environment - whatever it is you are wishing for, do this exercise:
Take a half hour to dream specificially. If it is a better job, imagine your dream job. Something you think you could do, but you don't really believe it could happen for you. It's like a secret.
An example is Anne who has an outgoing, caring personality that would make her exceptional in sales and customer service. She has a knack for the computer and does web design for her friends for free, but feels lacking without a college degree, and is approaching her fiftieth birthday. She works in whatever jobs she can find to barely support herself, always struggles and worries about paying her bills, and never has anything left over. She harbors a deep desire to work for a top level corporatation in the High Tech industry, complete with great salary and company car, expense account and great health benefits. You can see how she would hold herself back by believing she's not good enough to go after her dream job, in spite of the talents and abilities she buries under her misguided focus on what she lacks.
Then imagine Janice, who needed a job after she moved into a new area with her husband. She was drivng along a mountain road and looked down into the valley at a premier corporate headquarters in the space industry nestled in a beautiful forest of trees. She smiled to herself, nodded her head and said outloud :"That is where I am going to work."
Janice had no college degree either, but got hired in an entry level position, worked her way up, and spent her later-in-life career in a company she describes as "just wonderful," and retired in a position of leadership and responsbility.
When you are dreaming specifically, just imagine yourself doing what you love. the details will fill in on their own. Stretch yourself and believe, like Janice, that somehow it will happen, Take the first step by spending 30 minutes writing down your dream job. Then go about your business, and watch what unfolds. Notice the evidence of your dream taking root because you planted the seed.
"Whatever you can do or dream you can, begin it. Courage has boldness, magic and genius in it." Johann von Goethe
