8 Steps to Reclaiming Your Power and Attracting the Life of Your Dreams
By Linda Marie Prejean
A great life is natural. If your dreams aren't coming toward you with signs, guideposts and synchronicities to encourage you to keep going, take a look at how you're living you life. Maybe you have a disconnect in your energy that is keeping your good from your awareness. Here are 8 steps to reconnect to your Higher Good, giving you a closer relationship to the source of all things good in your life:
1. Visualize. You do this all day long whenever you linger on a thought. Now do it consciously. Look at what you see, differently. Is there a family member in trouble, or in poor health? "See" it healed. See your life healed. See your finances improving; see yourself in your dream job. Cultivate the luxury of seeing brand new. "Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind." Romans 12:2
2. Sometimes you have to get moving even if it's not the prevailing wisdom. A feeling of empowerment is on the other side of facing what holds you back and keeps you in a state of fear and anxiety. Are you giving too much power to society's belief that your life's greatest opportunities have to end after a certain age? Change your mind, adopt a new attitude. Others are out there plucking their greatest desires from the golden tree of belief. You can too as soon as you believe in yourself and have the faith that good things will come your way.
3. Appreciate! Make a list of what is going right in your life. Refer to it often. Express gratitude until you can feel the sensation of appreciation. There is hidden power in this because grateful energy comes from Love and is cumulative. It's like storing energy in a savings account, ready for your use when you need to face a challenge that will make your dreams come true.
4. Make a plan. Have a plan, today, next month, 60 days and 100 days out. It can be flexible and subject to change, even daily, but it's important to write down your plan. What do you want to achieve that you can get a good start on over the next 100 days, beginning today? This puts you in the control seat and out of victim mode. When you take action and are actively demonstrating that you believe in yourself enough to write down a plan, you feel the strength found in trust and faith.
5. Add emotion. When you write down a plan, you automatically begin to create images. Enlarge these visualizations and give them the added power of sound, taste, and touch, then add your emotional desire with a 'hit' of passion.
6. Reach out. Feel the good feelings of making a difference in some way with someone every day. It can be a phone call, or a visit to someone, a gift, or an offering, a smile or a bunch of flower from your rose garden. Bake a zucchini loaf for a neighbor who did you a favor. Send a card or note to a friend or relative. Take the time because this is where you are reconnecting back to yourself and to the greater forces inside of yourself. It's like plugging in your own life force cord to an outlet in the wall. "Whatever you have, you have to give that back." - Oprah
7. Breathe deeply, pause, look around, and just enter the silence of your being. Underneath it all is the feeling of joy, even underneath the deepest pain. You will only know this when you have the experience and you must tune into this truth yourself. Take a full minute and let your mind rest, keep just one thought to return to, such as "Love," or Peace." Get familiar with this so you can expand it to 11 minutes every day. Your life will transform in uplifting, wonderful, amazing ways.
8. Reframe - practice turning around your belief system that is causing you distress. If you feel resentments, remind yourself that you're only hurting yourself and turn the thought around to something loving about yourself, and forgiveness for the other person. If you can, communicate, open a dialogue, clear the air, and allow for a shift in the energy surrounding the resentment. Take the necessary steps immediately to get the bottled up feelings out of your head. This will do more for making your dreams come true than anything else. It is a vital step forward.
Reconnecting to your Creative Source is the best work you can do. Everything else falls into place when you take the time to find peace of mind, and enter the state of Grace that will make your world turn around in harmony, and show you just how great life can be. Learn to release your fears, halt your resentments, appreciate what you have, and give a daily kindness to others. You'll be amazed how everything that is good begins to find you, seek you out, and enter your life - finances build, relationships heal, memories take their proper place as a memory, not an emotional derailment, and you feel Hope again that your greatest dreams can come true.
